High CPU Usage After Firmware Upgrade
This article covers the reason CPU usage is high after a firmware upgrade.
Version: Prior to 188.8.131.52
Why the CPU usage is high after the firmware upgrade?
|Steps to Reproduce:
|When upgrading the LMOS from a version prior to 184.108.40.206 to any LMOS version 220.127.116.11 and above, a new 4096-bit DHE key is generated. On smaller LoadMasters, this can lead to significant CPU and memory consumption that could impact regular virtual service traffic.
|It is unclear how long this behaviour may last but we have seen cases that the system CPU and/or memory returned to normal between 30 to 60 minutes. It is important to highlight that Progress Kemp strongly recommends that any firmware update be performed in a maintenance interval.
