Question/Problem Description: |
Tried to restore the existing configuration on the new Kemp LoadMaster and received an error “Can’t restore to a device with more ports”. Is there a way to upgrade to a new model that has more ports? |
Steps to Reproduce: | |
Error Message: | "Can’t restore to a device with more ports" |
Defect Number: | |
Enhancement Number: | |
Cause: | If a device has a different number of ports you cannot load the LoadMaster Base Configuration backup into the unit. |
Resolution: |
The base configuration settings must be manually set on the new device. This includes all settings within "System Configuration". Then perform a configuration restore while only selecting the Virtual Service, Geo, and SSO options when uploading the backup. |
