Transferring a License Between Two Units

You have the ability to transfer licenses between two of your units, but only during initial deployment. To accomplish this, you will need to use Offline Licensing on the unit receiving the permanent license. To initiate Offline Licensing, navigate to System Configuration > System Administration > Update License.

On this screen, select Offline Licensing from the drop-down menu and click Get License.

The Offline Licensing page appears (https://alsi2.kemptechnologies.com/offLine.php) where you are prompted to insert various pieces of information about your LoadMaster. One of these fields is the Serial Number for your LoadMaster. To migrate your license, you must enter the Serial Number of the LoadMaster you want to migrate the license from. The other fields should reflect the Access Code, Type, and Firmware of the local LoadMaster.

After clicking Request License, an email is sent containing a license BLOB that starts with the word begin and ends with the word end. Copy the BLOB and enter it into the License field in the Offline Licensing screen and click Update License. Once completed, your unit will have the license of the old unit.

Note: You cannot migrate your units between different types of LoadMasters. For example, you cannot take the license of a Virtual Machine and apply this to a cloud or hardware unit.
