HA failover problem
Information
Summary: |
HA is not failing over when switch goes down. |
Environment: |
Product: LoadMaster Version: Any Platform: Any Application: Any |
Question/Problem Description: |
When the ACTIVE KEMP loses communication with the management switch, the standby KEMP does not take over the traffic, thus impacting the communications with the applications. However, when KEMP ACTIVE (box 01) loses full communication with the network (is turned off) or when the connection with the CORE switch fails, box 02 becomes ACTIVE. |
Steps to Reproduce: | |
Error Message: | |
Defect Number: | |
Enhancement Number: | |
Cause: | "Use for HA checks" is enabled on multiple interfaces. |
Resolution: |
If "Use for HA Checks" is enabled on multiple LM interfaces, this means that all interfaces with this enabled must fail in order for HA to see the partner unit as down. In order for an HA failover to occur when the active unit loses communication with the management switch, "Use for HA checks" must only enabled on that management switch interface. |
