How to Configure JD Edwards Enterprise Application using Content Switching

The diagram above shows a typical example setup for JD Edwards Enterprise Application.

If you are running JD Edwards Enterprise Application and wish to load balance the different ports and servers, please follow the steps below in the LoadMaster Web User Interface (WUI):

  1. In the main menu, select Rules & Checking > Content Rules.
  2. Click Create New.
  3. Create the rules as shown in the image above.
  4. In the main menu, create a Virtual Service with eight SubVSs.
  5. Click Modify on the Virtual Service.
  6. Expand the Advanced Properties section.
  7. Enable Content Switching.
  8. Expand the Real Servers section.
  9. Add rule jdedv to SubVS #1 and #2.
  10. Add rule jdeit to SubVS #3 and #4.
  11. Add rule jdeps to SubVS #5 and #6.
  12. Add rule jdest to SubVS #7 and #8.
  13. Under Advanced Properties, click Show Header Rules.
  14. Add the Modify URL rule to the Request Rules.
  15. Under Real Servers Click Modify for SubVS #1.
  16. Expand the Advanced Properties section.
  17. Click Show Header Rules.
  18. Add the Replace Header rule that matches the Real Server IP and Port.
  19. Expand the Real Servers section.
  20. Click Add New
  21. Add the Real Server Address and corresponding destination Port.
  22. Repeat steps 16-21 for each SubVS.

These rules will match the URL entered by the user and will redirect it from root to the login page. Next, it will send the request to the JD Enterprise login screen and will send the request with the port so that the server will accept the connection.
