High Availability (HA) with Cisco ASR 1000 - FHRP
When using the KEMP LoadMaster in a High Availability (HA) pair when the traffic was traversing a Cisco Nexus 1000V, we could not get the devices to sync and the status of each device was Master Master.
After investigating all possibilities within the Nexus with no success it was found that the issue resided with the Cisco ASR 1000 series router, they default to FHRP (First Hop Redundancy Protocols) filtering enabled.
In order to get any FHRP such as VRRP, HSRP, CARP, ESRP etc.. to work you need to disable the FHRP Filtering enabled feature.
