Creating an HA pair from two single LoadMasters

To set up the units as a High Availability (HA) pair, follow the steps below:

  1. In the Web User Interface (WUI) of the single unit that is already configured, in the main menu, go to System Configuration > HA Parameters > HA Mode.

  2. Select HA (First) Mode.

  3. Click OK.

  4. Click OK again.

  5. In the main menu, go to System Configuration > eth0.

  6. Enter the HA Shared IP address and click Set Shared address.

  7. Enter the HA Partner IP address and click Set Partner address.

  8. Click Reboot Now.

This unit will become HA-1.

 

Connect the VGA monitor and keyboard to the new single unit. In the console menu, follow the steps to set up the LoadMaster and enter the physical IP address, LoadMaster name and default gateway of the unit. Then, reboot the unit. Once the unit has rebooted, log on to the physical IP address of the unit in the web browser.

 

In the WUI, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to System Configuration >  HA Parameters > HA Mode..

  2. Select HA (Second) Mode.

  3. In the main menu, go to System Configuration > eth0.

  4. Enter the HA Shared IP address and click Set Shared address.

  5. Enter the HA Partner IP address and click Set Partner address.

  6. Click Reboot Now.

This unit will become HA-2.

 The HA-pair is now set up and settings/configuration can be viewed and/or modified in the shared (management) IP address.
