High Availability (HA) Timeout value

This option determines the amount of time it will take before fail-over will occur to the standby unit when the master becomes unavailable. A lower value will detect failures sooner, whereas a higher value gives better protection against a DOS attack.

Timeout values to choose from are 3 Seconds, 6 Seconds, 9 Seconds, 12 Seconds and 15 Seconds.

To set this option, follow the steps below in the LoadMaster Web User Interface (WUI):

  1. Select System Configuration > Miscellaneous Options > HA Parameters.

  2. Select the preferred value in the HA Timeout dropdown list.
