The GEO Isolate Public/Private Sites check box is available in the Modify FQDN screen. To access this screen, in the LoadMaster Web User Interface (WUI), go to Global Balancing > Manage FQDNs and click Modify on the relevant FQDN.
This option is enabled by default when a new FQDN is created. This option works with all Selection Criteria. When Isolate Public/Private Sites is enabled, it means that classes of IP addresses cannot be mixed, i.e. requests received from public addresses will be automatically resolved to the target that has a public IP address, even if there is no specified rule for the subnet that the request came from, simply because it is coming from a routable IP address. Similarly, private addresses will be resolved to the target that has a private IP address.
If the Isolate Public/Private Sites option is disabled, requests received from private addresses will be automatically resolved to the target that has a private IP address. However, if a private target has not been set, it will try to match to a public target.
