High Availability (HA) Protocols used on the KEMP LoadMaster

The HA protocol used on the KEMP LoadMaster is Common Address Redundancy Protocol (CARP).

CARP works in a similar way to Cisco’s Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP). It uses the multicast address In order for CARP to work between a pair of LoadMasters, both LoadMasters need to be on the same broadcast domain.
