How to configure Port Translate Using Content Rules
If you have a Virtual Service on port 80 and also a Real Server on a different port, then you can create a header modification on the LoadMaster which will change the port. The server will then accept the connections. This is typically the case when using custom applications on the servers. To do this, please follow the steps below in the LoadMaster Web User Interface (WUI):
-
In the main menu, select Rules & Checking and Content Rules.
-
Click Create new.
-
Use the following Rule.
-
Click Create Rule.
-
In the main menu, select Virtual Services and View/Modify Services.
-
Click Modify on the relevant Virtual Service.
-
Click Show Header Rules.
-
In Request Rules, select Change_Port and click Add.
This rule will match what is currently in the host header and will change the port being sent to the server so that the server will accept the connections.
