How to understand & configure Compression

To permit or block specific file extensions from being compressed by the LoadMaster when compression is enabled within a Virtual Service, navigate to System Configuration > Miscellaneous Options > AFE Configuration > Compression Options in the LoadMaster Web User Interface (WUI).

By default, the LoadMaster compresses any files with a file extension that is not listed in bold under Compression Options as seen in Figure 1.1.

Adding A File Extension to the “Do Not Compress” List

To add file extensions to the list of file types that should not be compressed, input the file extension into the text box, click Add, and ensure it is added to the list of bold file extensions (see Figure 1.2).

Removing A File Extension from The “Do Not Compress” List

To remove a file extension from the list of file types that are not to be compressed, select the file extension from the drop down box and click Delete. Ensure that the file extension does not appear in the list of bold file extensions (see Figure 1.3).
