How to understand & configure Caching

To permit or block specific file extensions from being cached by the LoadMaster when caching is enabled within a virtual service, navigate to System Configuration > Miscellaneous Options > AFE Configuration > Cache Configuration in the LoadMaster WUI.

By default, the LoadMaster caches any files with a file extension that is not listed in bold under Cache Configuration as seen in Figure 1.1.

Adding a File Extension to the “Do Not Cache” List

To add file extensions to the list of file types that should not be cached, input the file extension into the text box, click Add, and ensure it is added to the list of bold file extensions (see Figure 1.2).

Removing a File Extension from the “Do Not Cache” List

To remove a file extension from the list of file types that are not to be cached, select the file extension from the drop down box and click Delete. Ensure that the file extension does not appear in the list of bold file extensions (see Figure 1.3).
