Configure the IP Address to Return in a DNS Response

This article relates to LoadMaster firmware version 7.2.52.

In LoadMaster firmware version 7.2.52, a new text box was introduced called Glue Record IP which allows you to set the IP address of the name server to return in additional records in a DNS response. This text box is available at the following path in the LoadMaster User Interface (UI): Global Balancing > Miscellaneous Params. If an IP address is not configured in the Glue Record IP text box, 0.0.0.0 is returned wherever an additional record is expected. Both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses are supported.

For further information on GEO in general, refer to the Long Term Support (LTS) GEO Feature Description.

Application Programming Interface (API) Details

To set the Glue Record IP using the RESTful API, run the following command:

/access/modparams?glueip=<IPAddress>

To unset the Glue Record IP so that 0.0.0.0 is returned, set the glueip parameter to an empty string. For example:

/access/modparams?glueip=

For further details on the RESTful API in general, refer to the Long Term Support (LTS) RESTful API Interface Description document.

For PowerShell help, run the Get-Help command for the relevant commands.
