This article relates to LoadMaster firmware version 7.2.52.
Support for the Differentiated Services Code Point (DSCP) architecture in previous releases allowed the setting of a specific DSCP option using the Virtual Service Quality of Service option (under Standard Options). In LoadMaster firmware version 7.2.52, a new option (Pass Through) has been added to the Quality of Service drop-down to support DSCP settings passed to LoadMaster in the client connection. When this option is enabled and there is a DSCP option received in a client request, the LoadMaster passes that DSCP option on to the server.
There are a couple of points to be aware of regarding SubVSs:
- If you select Pass Through as the Quality of Service on the parent Virtual Service, all SubVSs under the parent Virtual Service will use Pass Through. The SubVS will not display the Quality of Service field and you will not be able to change the Quality of Service value using the Application Programming Interface (API).
- If you select any other option apart from Pass Through as the Quality of Service on the parent Virtual Service, no SubVS under that Virtual Service will have the Pass Through option in the Quality of Service drop-down list and you will not be able to set the Quality of Service to Pass Through using the API.
To set the Quality of Service value to Pass Through using the RESTful API, use the modvs command and set the value of the QoS parameter to 16:
For further details on the RESTful API in general, refer to the Long Term Support (LTS) RESTful API Interface Description document.
