Traffic is not being redirected from port 80 to 443, despite having a port 80 redirect service

Steps to Reproduce:
Error Message: web page times out unless you specify https://
Defect Number:
Enhancement Number:
Cause: Firewall filtering port 80 traffic
Resolution:
  • create a port 80 redirect service as per link below
  • check statistics page for a connection to see if there is any traffic going through the redirect service
  • Statistics.PNG
  • Run a packet capture filtering on port 80 and try and access application
  • Taking a packet capture will verify if traffic is making it to the port 80 service (instructions included for how to run a capture in the notes section.  For firmware 7.2.56 and later, the TCP Dump option has been moved from the System Configuration > Logging Options > Debug Options page to a new page at System Configuration > Troubleshooting)
  • If nothing is getting to the service, check to see what could be blocking/filtering it in it's path before the LoadMaster.
