Two Virtual Services are needed to load balance the Edupoint Synergy workload. This Virtual Services can be configured manually, or a template can be used to quickly and easily configure the Virtual Services with the recommended settings. Refer to the relevant section below to find out how to create the Virtual Services.
To manually configure the Virtual Services, follow the steps below in the LoadMaster Web User Interface (WUI):
1. In the main menu, select Virtual Services > Add New.
2. Enter a valid Virtual Address.
3. Enter 443 as the Port.
4. Enter a recognizable Service Name, for example Edupoint Synergy HTTPS Offloaded.
5. Click Add this Virtual Service.
6. Configure the settings as recommended in the following table:
|Click Set Cookie.
|Add HTTP Headers
|Click Add HTTP Redirector.
7. Add any Real Servers as needed.
When Add HTTP Redirector is clicked, a redirector Virtual Service is automatically created. To configure this Virtual Service, follow the steps below:
1. In the main menu, select Virtual Services > View/Modify Services.
2. Click Modify on the redirect Virtual Service.
3. Enter a recognizable Service Name, for example Edupoint Synergy HTTPS Offloaded HTTP Redirection.
4. Select None as the Persistence Mode.
Kemp has developed a template containing the recommended settings for Edupoint Synergy. This template can be installed on the LoadMaster and can be used when creating each the Virtual Services. Using a template automatically populates the settings in the Virtual Services. This is quicker and easier than manually configuring each Virtual Service. If needed, you can make changes to any of the Virtual Service settings after using the templates.
Download released templates from the following page: LoadMaster Templates.
If you create another Virtual Service using the same template, ensure to change the Service Name to a unique name.
