Allow Port Traffic in AWS

Summary:

Allow traffic on a particular TCP/UDP port within an AWS environment.

Question/Problem Description:

Traffic flow for a particular TCP/UDP is being prevented with an AWS environment.

Steps to Reproduce:

Enhancement Number:  
Cause: When a new service is created, the port is blocked by default within AWS.
Resolution:

1) Log into the AWS Management Console and navigate to the EC2.

2) Select the EC2 instance on which the Virtual Machine is running and navigate to "Security Groups," then select the tab for "Inbound" rules and click the "Edit" button.

3) With the "Edit inbound rules" window open, choose "Add Rule."

4) Select the type of traffic that will be allowed from the drop-down under "Type," then specify the "Protocol" and "Port Range." This step can be repeated for any additional ports that should be allowed.

5) Click "Save."
