Remote Desktop Web Access with ESP not working for MAC/IOS users.

Summary:

When using Edge Security Pack (ESP) for Remote Desktop Web Access (RDweb), MAC/IOS users are unable to connect.

Environment:

Product: LoadMaster

Version:7.2.56

Platform: Any

Application: Any

Question/Problem Description:

When using ESP for RDweb, MAC/IOS users are unable to connect.

Steps to Reproduce:  
Error Message: Error code 0x03000008
Defect Number:  
Enhancement Number:  
Cause: RDweb needs the same internal and external FQDN to be used.
Resolution: Create rule to rewrite the internal location header to the external location header
Workaround:

Create a response rule for the location header as follows and assign it under the advanced properties of the Virtual Service as a response rule.

To create the rule go to: Rules & Checking --> Content Rules --> Create New

Rule Name:                                   Location_rewrite
Rule Type: Replace Header
Header Field: Location
Match String: https\:\/\/rdweb.internaldomain.com(.*)
Value of Header Field to be replaced: https://rdweb.externaldomain.com\1
Perform If Flag Set: unset
Perform If Flag is NOT Set: unset

 

To add the rule to the RDweb virtual service go to:
Virtual Services --> View/Modify Service --> Modify --> Advanced Properties --> HTTP Header Modifications --> Add response rule.
