Error Message: NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID

Cause: Its possible that the name listed on your certificate does not match the domain that it’s installed on. 
Resolution:  
Workaround:

A Virtual service is load balancing a web application and performing a SSL offloading or re-encryption for the HTTPs traffic. This is error that is received in our browser when pointing to this Virtual service site.

This error code is NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID. The most common cause of this type of error NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID is that the site’s domain doesn’t match the common name that is listed on the SSL certificate.

To try to resolve this, confirm that the domain on the certificate matches the cert apply to the Virtual service-

  1. Open the Webpage pointing to Virtual service displaying the Connection not private error, select secure certificate icon in the address bar of the browser.
  2. Select Certificate-> View Certificate is valid-> Details -> Certificate Subject Alternative Name 
  3. View to see if the SAN or Common name is listed correctly

Note. Performing a SSL Qualys Scan will list what Alternative names is applied to your cert and if there is any issues with the overall certificate.
