SMTP Unable to relay recipient in non-accepted domain

Information

Summary:

If a remote host sends an smtp email through the LoadMaster, users will receive "SMTP Unable to relay recipient in non-accepted domain."

Environment:

Product: LoadMaster

Version: Any

Platform: Any

Application: Exchange

Question/Problem Description:

How to fix mail flow to prevent this error.

Steps to Reproduce:
Error Message: SMTP Unable to relay recipient in non-accepted domain
Defect Number:
Enhancement Number:
Cause: The LoadMaster's IP address needs to be configured in the receive connectors
Resolution:
  • Checked Received connector for port 25 on exchange and found that IP address of the LoadMaster was not present.
  • As soon as the the IP of the LoadMaster was added, the issue was fixed and mail flow was restored.  Since the service had Subnet Originating Requests enabled (in the standard options section of the service configuration), the LoadMaster is forwarding traffic to the servers using the interface IP, so this is the IP that needs to be configured.
Workaround:
