Exchange 2016 Sub-VSs and SMTP

0

Hello,

I am working on building out a new exchange 2016 environment with HA. I would like to have just 1 IP(10.0.52.100) and 1 DNS (webmail.acme.com)

What my end goal is to have OWA, ECP, EWS, .... along with SMTP running on the same IP in the load balancer.

Is this something that is possible?

thanks,
Brett

Hello Brett,

Yes indeed. you can have the 443 service on 10.0.52.100 and also have another VIP for the SMTP on the IP 10.0.52.100 with port 25. I would encourage you to deploy using the templates for the load master as this will simplify the deployment for you. You can get them from here

Best regards

Mark

Yup, I have done that. But in the template there isnt a SMTP configuration. I have created a generic one with SMTP. But couldnt get it to work.

Not sure if there is a post or how to adding SMTP to it.

Hi Bret,

The additional services templates for exchange include the SMTP/S service and the core template also has the SMTP service.
