Load Balancing Oracle MWA

1   Introduction

The Oracle Mobile Supply Chain Applications Server is a java based mobile server that supports the Telnet Protocol. The Telnet Server module has two sub-modules:

  • Telnet Protocol Handler- Functions as the communication module between the client and the rest of the Telnet.
  • Presentation Manager- Implements the telnet protocol that actually renders the user interface on the connected telnet client.

 

1.1  Document Purpose

This section details a configuration for a specific application that has been provided by a customer but has yet to be fully tested

This specific configuration will ensure that your MWA servers are highly-available, scalable, and secure.

Configuration has yet to be fully verified, Kemp Support will gladly assist if your MWA traffic is not flowing as expected.

 

2     Configuration 

 

2.1  Global Configuration

       No Changes Required

 

  2.2  Virtual Service Configuration

         One Virtual Service Required listening on Port 3000 which will forward traffic on port 10800

 

2.3   Oracle MWA Virtual Service

 > New Virtual Service

 > Enter IP Address

 > Port = 3000

 > Name = Oracle MWA

 

2.4    Standard Options   

 >  Persistence = None

 > Scheduling Method = Weighted Response Time

 > Idle Timeout = 3600

 > Quality of Service = Minimize-Delay

 

 

 

2.5    Real Servers

    > Checker Parameter Type = TCP

    > Checked Port = 10800

    >  Add New

 

       > Enter Real Server IP Address

       > Port = 10800

       > Forwarding Method = NAT
