Real servers multiple checking

0

Hello guys,

I am working on a load balancing implementation tests and I want to configure multiple checks to determine if the server is up to handle a request,

When creating the virtual service and andding real servers to the pool, I can choose the check mothod (ICMP, HTTP/HTTPS, TCP ...) but i can use only one of them at a time,

So I am wondering if there is a way to configure multiple checks for the server ?

For example: to determine that the server is up i have to check TCP connection + HTTP specific response from server + Telnet protocol on server is up

Thanks for advertising if there is a solution for that,

T&R,

Mak

Hi Mak,

Is this in relation to our Containerized LoadMaster (CLM) or one of the other LoadMaster platforms?

Have you seen this document? https://support.kemptechnologies.com/hc/en-us/articles/211215546-Feature-Description-Health-Checking-#_Toc473011304

If you have support then the support team will be happy to help.

Hi Derek,

Thanks, It is for the Virtual LoadMaster edition (VLM) that i am testing,

Indeed, i already saw this document, but my question is about configuring multiple checks to determine the state of the server (is it possible ?), because actually i can use just one health check method to check the servers.

Hello Mak,

The ability to perform multiple checks on a single real server is not a feature of the LoadMaster (regardless of version or model).

The workaround that we suggest in this case would be to configure a script on the server side that would check all of the requirements. This script would return certain value when all of the checks pass. The LM would then be configured to check for this value on the real server. Example: The LM can check a directory or check page on the web server where the script would be returning this value.

Any plans to get this available as a feature. Many other competing products in the market are having this option for some time now.
