Port Redirection

0

Is it possible to forward an incoming communication from one port to another. I know we can do it with port 80 to port 443 but is it possible in Kemp to do it with other ports. I have a IPsec VPN solution that runs of port 4500 but there are a few clients out there that do not allow you the change the IPsec port from 500. I want to connect in to the network on 500 but have the load balance redirect the connection to 4500.

Thanks

Hi Joshua,

You can always use the real servers on port 4500 and the service itself on port 500. This will be transparent to the user and will NAT the port from 500 to 4500.

Mark,

That is how i set it up but it doesn't seem to be working. I see the communication come in the router on port 500 and leave for the load balancer's ip address but I am not sure where to go to see what happens to it once it goes the the Load Balance. Which logs should show me that the communication came in and then left for it destination.

Thanks,
Joshua

Hi Joshua,

You can use the system log files once you have enabled "Enable L7 debug traces" under "System configuration ==> Logging Options ==> System logs files ==> Debug Options" this is a verbose logging option and should be disabled after troubleshooting.

You can also do a TCP dump at the bottom of that page.
