URL rewriting

0

Hi,

I am trying to forward different virtual directories to the same directory on different servers, ie:

10.0.0.0/DirA -> 10.0.0.1/standard

10.0.0.0/DirB -> 10.0.0.2/standard

I have set up a virtual service 10.0.0.0 with two SubVSs with the following rules:

on 10.0.0.1: content matching for string /^\/DirA$/

on 10.0.0.2: content matching for string /^\/DirB$/

on 10.0.0.0: modify URL from DirA to standard

on 10.0.0.0: modify URL from DirB to standard

Am I missing anything? Thanks!

Morning,
just to clarify the setup

VS is 10.0.0.0
Subvs 1 (Content Match Directory A)
under the Sub VS (modify URL from DirA to standard)
                                                Real server 1 is 10.0.0.1
                                                Real server 2 is 10.0.0.2

Subvs 2 (Content Match Directory B)
under the Sub VS (modify URL from DirB to standard)
                                                Real server 1 is 10.0.0.1
                                                Real server 2 is 10.0.0.2

this looks correct, just make sure you do not add persistence on the main VS only add persistence to the Sub VSs

Hi Tony,
thanks for your reply.

Thant's the setup:

VS is 10.0.0.0
Subvs 1 (Content Match Directory A)
under the Sub VS (modify URL from DirA to standard)
                                                Real server 1 is 10.0.0.1

Subvs 2 (Content Match Directory B)
under the Sub VS (modify URL from DirB to standard)
                                                Real server 2 is 10.0.0.2

As far as I understand I can assign rules in three different places:

VS > Advanced Properties (nothing to be assigned here)

SubVSs > Rules (content match here)

SubVSs > Advanced Properties (modify URL under HTTP Header Modifications)

Makes sense? Thanks.

you are correct,
I do not see any issues with this setup
