How can i access an Azure Website by Ip Address?

0

I have configured an azure Website, have added a ip based ssl cert to ensure a unique ip address. However, the domain manager still does not allow me to browse that website by ip address. Therefore i presume i am not able to browse this site as a real server which was my purpose of having this device, to route traffic to different servers based on URL.

There should be no limitation on using the ip address. You might be having issues on the web server knowing how to treat that traffic.

You can use Host header replacement rules to set the header on the request back to azure to match with a domain that is configured for the website. Even with IP SSL azure still only allows access via a known domain name I think. Thats at least what i have had to do. Cloud services allow access via ip, but websites require the domain. And actually by doing so i don't even need the ssl dedicated ip because the domain name routing works with the host header replacement rule.
