VLM Free not working

0

Hello,
Installed the free edition to test Lync 2013 in lab. I have previous experience with Kemp (v.7.0-8a) and works flawlessly. However, I have an issue with the current.
Deployed VS via template, real servers status is green (OK). Wireshark on real server shows the keep alive from the VS IP address.
The issues is that when the VS is accessed (both http and https), VLM does not proxy any traffic to the real server(s). I cannot find any issues in the VLM log. Is there a magic trick I am missing?

What happens when you try? Are you getting a blank page or one with an error message? Have you imported the certificate? Check "SSL Properties" and make sure the SSL configuration is valid.

yes, certificate is uploaded. However, the initial testing I am performing is against http web site (not SSL). Again, the issue is that VLM never proxy the request to a Real Server.
Network wise all looks ok, because on the Real Server I see the keep alive (ICMP in this case).
The same configuration works in production (VLM (v.7.0-8a) is on Hyper-v, thou)

Well in this case you will need to debug using a packet sniffer to look for TCP Resets or FINs.

Unfortunately, since the unit is a free Loadmaster we cannot provide support for it.

I did have looked already the network side and don't see anything funny. I do understand the concept of "free" and supportability :-) and will continue the fight - I like KEMP, what to say.

If the same configuration works on the premium unit you might go back to basics and re-check the network configuration... enabling L7 Traces might also give you a hint...Narrow down to the point gradually...

Thank you for the hint on L7 traces. I was not sure where to start. If I find something - I will report back here for community's sake.
