Copy services from one loadmaster to another

0

hi,
we are just replacing a Kemp hardware cluster with a virtual kemp cluster. Is there a way to copy virtual services from one device to another?
We have lots of services setup and I would ideally like a way to migrate a service at a time without manually recreating each service on the new device to make sure every setting is the same.
If not can i do a complete migration e.g. backup on the old device and restore to the new device
thanks

Hi,
You have a couple of options here.
You can take a backup of the Loadmaster and restore to the new Virtual Loadmaster.

System Configuration-System Administration-Backup/Restore

When restoring you have the option of restoring all the Base Configuration (such as all the Loadmasters own IP addresses and Global settings), VS configurations, GEO configuration if used.

Perhaps for a migration (where the new Loadmaster has a different IP it might be useful to use the "VS Configuration" Option only and this will load all the VSs from the backup without changing the global settings.

thanks for that. is there a way to copy a single virtual service between devices? That would allow me to do a staged migration rather than a full switch over.

Currently there is no way to extract a single Vs from a backup.
However if you feel this would be useful feel free to raise this as a feature request:
