301 redirect on domains

0

Hi,

I am looking at putting a site that has multiple host headers on the load balancer.
Currently i am using an IIS url rewrite rule to achieve this, is this something i can configure on the load balancer

assuming the main domain is www.abc.com:

abc.com -> 301 redirect to www.abc.com
www.abc.co.uk -> 301 redirect to www.abc.com
abc.co.uk -> 301 redirect to www.abc.com

Thanks

Paul.

Hi Paul,
Yes this is possible.

The following guide should show you how:
https://support.kemptechnologies.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004181826-How-to-configure-Content-Rules-Examples-Included-

Note that the loadmaster would have to be able to read the Headers so the configuration would have to be SSL offloaded in the case of HTTPs.

Hi Barry,

I think I may of missed something can I just confirm what I have done.
Added a new vip with two real servers.

Added a VS with the real server www.abc.com with the two real servers.

I have then added one rule with the domain of abc.com in the article.

I then added a http selection rule of the rule I just added and then set the not available redirection handling to a 302 error code and url of http://www.abc.com%s

how ever in the browser the non www domain just returns a 404

Im not sure if I have missed anything here.

Thanks

Paul
