Load Balancing Oracle Weblogic Form Services

1   Introduction

Oracle Forms is a component of Oracle Fusion Middleware. Oracle Forms is used to develop and deploy Forms applications. The Forms applications provide a user interface to access Oracle Database in an efficient and tightly-coupled way. The applications can be integrated with Java and web services to take advantage of service oriented architectures (SOA).

 

1.1  Document Purpose

This section details a configuration for a specific application that has been provided by a customer but has yet to be fully tested.

This specific configuration will ensure that your Oracle servers are highly-available, scalable, and secure.

Configuration has yet to be fully verified, Kemp Support will gladly assist if your Oracle traffic is not flowing as expected.

 

2. Configuration Required

    One Virtual Service listening port 80, where traffic will be forwarded to the backend server on port 8888.

   

2.1  Global Configuration

       No Changes Required.

 

3  Virtual Service Configuration: 

 

 3.1   Oracle Form Services 

      > New Virtual Service

      > Enter IP Address

      > Port = 80

      > Name = Oracle Form Services 

      > Add New Virtual Service

 

3.2     Standard Options

       >  Disable Transparency

       >  Persistence = Active Cookie

       >  Timeout = 1 Hour

       >  Cookie name = JSESSIONID

       >   Scheduling Method = Round Robin

 

 

3.3      Real Servers

      > Checker Parameter Type = TCP

      >  Port = 8888

      >  Add New

 

    > Enter Real Server IP Address

      > Port = 8888

      > Forwarding Method = NAT
