Is it possible to combine LM X15-NG and X15 (previous model) in HA solution?

Hello
I would like to ask if it is possible to combine boxes of type X15-NG and X15 (previous model) in one HA solution? Is it possible to use the X15 spare part in the new HA solution that is built on the new X15-NG model in case of hw failure of one of the boxes?

Hi Jiri,

In general, pairing two different loadmaster model types for HA is not recommended, and we would not consider this a support configuration. This is to avoid an example of having a loadmaster that has higher specs (cpu, memory, throughput/TPS capability) paired with a lower spec'd unit which cannot handle the traffic of the higher spec'd one.

Hi Andrew,
I know that using X15-NG and X15 (legacy) in one HA solution is not recommended as a permanent solution. But I understand that it CAN BE  used as a temporary emergency solution to bridge the delivery time of the replacement X15-NG box.

Hi Jiri,

Pairing 2 different units/models of Kemp loadmaster in a HA whether temporary or permanent is not supported. This has not been tested and unexpected results may occur.

So you are on your own if you try it.
