Load Balancing ConnectWire Control (formerly Screen Connect)

1   Introduction

Establish on demand support sessions to control machines remotely and solve problems quickly. With ConnectWise® Control™ anyone, from tech to employee, can rely on remote control to make their jobs easier.

Built on years of innovative remote support development, ConnectWise® Control™ remote meeting software simplifies the process of engaging multiple people in meetings, webinars, and other opportunities for idea exchange. Participants viewing a shared screen can record video, take screenshots, and chat with one another. 

 

1.2  Document Purpose

This section details a configuration for a specific application that has been provided by a customer but has yet to be fully tested.

This specific configuration will enable your ConnectWire Control Page to be Load Balanced. 

Configuration has yet to be fully verified, but Kemp Support will gladly assist if ConnectWire Control traffic is not flowing as expected.

 

2  Configuration Required

Two Virtual Services required. One listening on port 443 for your Connect Wire Website service and one Connect Wire - Relay on port 8041.

 2.1 Global Configuration  

     >No Changes Required

 

2.2  Virtual Service Configuration:

 

2.3    Connect Wire Website Virtual Service

      > New Virtual Service

      > Enter IP Address

      > Port = 443

      > Name = Connect Wire Website     

> Add New Virtual Service


 2.4    Standard Options   

      > Disable Transparency

      > Subnet Originating Request = Enable

      >  Persistence = Source IP 

      >  Persistence Time = 1hr  

      > Scheduling Method = Least Connection

      >  Idle Connection Timeout = 660  (Default)

 


2.5 Enable SSL Acceleration  (Enable Re-encryption if Server Requires)

      >  Assign Certificate

      > Enable TLS1.1 and TLS1.2

      > Cipher Set = Best Practices



   2.6   Real Servers

      > Checker Parameter Type = HTTPS    

      > Check Port = 443

      > Add New 

      > Enter IP Address

      > Port = 443

 

 

2.3    Connect Wire - Relay Virtual Service

      > New Virtual Service

      > Enter IP Address

      > Port = 8041

      > Name = Connect Wire Website - Relay    

> Add New Virtual Service

2.3.1    Standard Options   

      > Disable Transparency

      > Subnet Originating Request = Enable

      >  Persistence = Source IP 

      >  Persistence Time = 1hr  

      > Scheduling Method = Least Connection

      >  Idle Connection Timeout = 660  (Default)

  2.3.2  Real Servers

      > Checker Parameter Type = TCP Connection Only    

      > Check Port = 8041

      > Add New 

      > Enter IP Address

      > Port = 8041
