URL Masking / Hiding

0

Hello Team,

I have a server, where in i am redirecting the url from "http://hosta:50200/" to "http://hostb:50200/irj/portal", my question is can the later part after "/" be hidden from the user, if the user is accessing some application in the portal i.e if the actual address is "http://hostb:50200/irj/portal/something/something" to "http://hostb:50200/irj/portal" the part after "/portal/" should be hidden from the user.

Thanks,

Alankar

Hello Alankar,

if you were to set a URL redirect on the LoadMaster
then clients would see the change from http://hostb:50200/irj/portal to http://hostb:50200/irj/portal/newpage in the address bar

if you were to set a Modify URL on the LoadMaster
then clients would not see the change from http://hostb:50200/irj/portal to http://hostb:50200/irj/portal/newpage in the address bar
but they may be able to see if it via Wireshark or other webpage development tools

example taken from
https://support.kemptechnologies.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004181826-Content-Rule-Examples#Change%20URL

Rule type         Modify URL
Match String    /^\/irj\/portal$/
Modified URL    /irj/portal/newpage

Hello Tony,

Thanks for the update, I think my requirement is unclear let me put it in simple way.

For ex : if this is the actual url https://support.kemptechnologies.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004181826 and suppose if i click anywhere in the page or link, the address in the address bar should not change i.e it should remain like this https://support.kemptechnologies.com/hc/en-us/articles/, in the background it should redirect me to actual path/service but the address should remain constant, i.e the adress bar should display https://support.kemptechnologies.com/hc/en-us/articles/.

Thanks,

Alankar
