Deepnet DualShield Template Walk through

Hello all. I downloaded the deepnet_dualshield.tmpl to work on getting our internal deepnet servers setup for failover. I would like to see the options setup within the template so i know what is going on and what information i need to make sure i can give my boss whom is the one who will be setting up the information within the loadbalancer. Any help, screenshots, or information would be greatful.

Thanks in advance.

Hi James,

Only a few settings.  The port it listens on, subnet originating requests and also the health check TCP port is set.  Screenshot attached with the highlighted values.

Thank you. I am going to assume you list the servers that are setup within the network under real server, list each of them with priority. Also do you know if anything needs to be done on the Deepnet side besides having the main server and then make the clone for the backup.

Hi,

Yes.  You will list your server under the 'real servers' tab.  When you say priority are you referring to 'weight'?

You do not need to set a priority/weight here since it is using 'least connection' scheduling method.  In that way new connections will go to the server with the least amount of connections.  Weight only has effect when using any of the 'weighted' scheduling methods.

Beyond that I am not familiar with the application.  Does it require all connections to go to one server always and just have one for backup?
